Privacy Policy

Shopology (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a digital marketing agency providing services to independent retail businesses. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in the course of providing those services and operating this website.
Who we are
Shopology Contact: enquiries@shopology.co.uk Website: www.shopology.co.uk
What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- Visitors to www.shopology.co.uk
- Our client businesses, whose accounts and platforms we manage under agreed service arrangements
- Third-party platforms we connect to on our clients’ behalf (see below)
Information we collect
From website visitors:
- Basic technical information (browser type, pages visited) via standard web analytics
- Any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us (e.g. name, email, message content)
From clients, as part of our agency services:
- Business account access to platforms you authorise us to manage on your behalf, which may include (depending on the services you engage us for): Shopify store data, email marketing platforms, social and content platforms (including Pinterest), search console and analytics data, and related marketing tools.
- We access this data solely to perform the services you have engaged us for — for example, publishing content, managing product listings, or reporting on marketing performance.
How we access third-party platforms (including Pinterest)
Where a client uses a platform such as Pinterest and wishes us to manage content on their behalf, access is granted directly by the client through that platform’s own permission system (for example, Pinterest’s Business Access / Partner sharing). We do not request or store client login credentials directly. Access can be revoked by the client at any time through the relevant platform’s own account settings.
Where we use automated tools or integrations (including AI-assisted tools) to interact with a connected platform, this is done under the same client-granted permissions, for the sole purpose of carrying out agreed agency work — for example, creating or organising pins and boards, publishing scheduled content, or retrieving account information for reporting.
What we do not do
- We do not sell client or visitor data to third parties.
- We do not use client platform data for advertising or marketing unrelated to that client’s own business.
- We do not share client account access with parties outside Shopology except where necessary to deliver agreed services (e.g. a named sub-contractor bound by the same confidentiality terms).
Data storage and security
Access tokens and credentials used to connect to client platforms are stored securely and used only for the purposes described above. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect this information from unauthorised access.
Data retention
We retain client platform access only for the duration of our engagement with that client, and website enquiry information only as long as needed to respond to and follow up on the enquiry, unless a longer period is required by law.
Your rights
If you are a client or website visitor based in the UK/EU, you have rights under UK GDPR / EU GDPR including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [contact email address].

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
